[...] Customer Commons was created the day before IIW started with a group ranging from Doc and Joyce Searls to Craig Burton, Judi Clark, Joe Andrieu, Mary Ruddy, Mary Hodder, Drummond Reed, Britt Blaser, Markus Sabadello, and others. Customer Commons has evolved from the work at Project VRM, by Doc Searls and a large active community of VRMers. PDEC will be collaborating closely with Customer Commons. PDEC’s collaboration will help companies offer early access to new Personal Data products to individual members to get feedback and early adoption from those folks very interested in the space.
Hi Judi,

Thank you for participating in the pii2011 Venture Forum, and for all of your posts about the sessions. We're planning to post video of the sessions online in a few days, but I'll tweet about your blog so people who weren't there can get a sense of what was discussed.

Thanks again,
Natalie

Clickwrap “agreements” are what we call Contracts of Adhesion: no negotiations, take it or leave it.

It’s about people, not lawyers. We need to bring the balance back, help people to take ownership.

We do need to restore the balance of the original marketplaces here on the Web, where parties *negotiated* to come to agreements, instead of these monolithic, take it or leave it one-size fits all agreements that leave everyone except the Vendor with no choice.

We need a trusted voice to begin us moving back in the direction of empowering people everywhere in their interactions with each other, vendors and service providers. For the citizens of the world net, increasingly, the it is an essential medium for life. The upside for service providers: a more trusted and fair marketplace will attract more use and participation. The Web is still in its infancy. Rene's principles are essential to what it needs to really grow up to its stunning potential.

[...] The ID Coach has this quote at the top of her current blog post: …trust indices in the Western world are at an all time low. We don’t trust our lawyers, or accountants — they shred lots of documents. Many believe that bankers recently brought the world economic system to its knees in the crisis of 2008 and subsequent recession. Most people aren’t too enamored of politicians, either.
